Framery Oy named Main Contractor of the Year – Brione Oy wins Subcontractor of the Year

The Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics (LOGY ry) presented the 2024 Main Contractor and Subcontractor of the Year awards at the Subcontracting opening ceremony. The Main Contractor of the Year is Framery Oy, a company specializing in the design and manufacturing of soundproof phone booths and workspaces. Framery, which started in Tampere, was described as having rapidly evolved from a startup to an international success story, establishing itself as a global market leader in its field. The award committee’s decision was influenced by Framery’s innovativeness, strong economic growth and profitability, as well as its responsible approach that considers both employee well-being and environmental aspects.

The Subcontractor of the Year recognition was awarded to Brione Oy, an industrial contract manufacturer specializing in sheet metal parts and light metal structures. Based in Porvoo, Brione offers its customers all services from product design to delivery. The award citation described Brione as an innovative and bold industry pioneer that invests in the latest technology, product development, and quality. According to the award committee, economic profitability, delivery reliability, and high customer satisfaction demonstrate that things have been done right. The committee also appreciated Brione’s exemplary consideration of sustainability and sustainable development in its decision-making.

“LOGY ry’s goal is to promote the competitiveness of Finnish manufacturing industry through networking. The Main Contractor and Subcontractor of the Year recognitions reward companies that have acted exemplarily, demonstrating exceptional expertise, innovation, and responsibility in supporting supply chain success,” summarizes Janne Lehtimäki, Chairman of the Subcontracting award committee.

AI widely featured in the fair program

Artificial intelligence and digital solutions are visible at Subcontracting through an extensive program and a diverse range of exhibitors. The possibilities of AI in industry are particularly intertwined with increasing productivity, and from the opening of Subcontracting, it was reminded that there are already plenty of ways to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

Interesting programs are scheduled for each day of the fair. In Wednesday’s keynote speech, futurist and non-fiction author Perttu Pölönen reminds that keeping up with development requires continuous renewal. On Wednesday, Subcontracting will also host the opening seminar of the Finnish manufacturing industry ecosystem. On Thursday, a look at next year’s theme will be provided when change leader Ville Availa’s keynote speech considers what a sustainable industrial company of the future looks like. Future makers will be discussed in the closing day’s theme discussion, which will consider what kind of cooperation industry actors and educational institutions should engage in in the future.
