DIMECC as Subcontracting Programme Partner – The Make in Finland ecosystem presents itself
News 21.08.2024
DIMECC Oy, Finland’s leading innovation and business cooperation partner for the manufacturing industry, will be the new programme partner of the Subcontracting Fair in Tampere in early October. DIMECC, which combines industry and research, will focus its Subcontracting Fair programme on presenting the new Make in Finland ecosystem.
DIMECC is the orchestrator of the Make in Finland ecosystem, which was launched in June to promote a sustainable and smart future for the Finnish manufacturing industry. The companies involved in the ecosystem want to have a broad impact on the sector’s development, and the whole value chain from design to production and distribution is involved. According to the companies involved in the ecosystem, manufacturing needs strong cooperation, continuous renewal and innovations in order to succeed globally.
“In a country the size of Finland, companies cannot afford to simply compete with each other. By working together, we can optimize the use of resources and share knowledge for mutual success. This strengthens the competitiveness of all companies in the ecosystem while preserving the benefits of healthy competition,” says Clémentine Arpiainen, Ecosystem Lead at DIMECC.
Experts voices are heard in networks
The most tangible collaboration in the ecosystem is through networks of experts, bringing together experts from different fields to share and learn from good practice. These networks will include expertise in areas such as engineering, manufacturing and materials, design, assembly and logistics, sustainability and the industrial data economy. In addition, they will aim to generate ideas for new research, development and innovation projects.
“In the ecosystem, you can learn, develop and certainly innovate something completely new together with others,” says Eija Syrjämäki, DIMECC’s ecosystem lead.
You can find out more about the Make in Finland ecosystem and DIMECC’s activities at the Subcontracting Fair in October. Syrjämäki and Arpiainen will present the Make in Finland ecosystem at the HEAT Stage on Tuesday afternoon and the topic will be discussed in more detail at the Sustainable and smart manufacturing in Finland seminar on Wednesday. In this inaugural seminar, the founding members of the ecosystem, led by Nokia, Wärtsilä and Konecranes, will explain what smart and sustainable manufacturing means from their point of view and why it is worth being involved in the ecosystem.
Programme partnership brings important visibility
With the launch of this programme partnership, DIMECC wants to raise the profile of its own expertise and increase its visibility, but it is equally important to spotlight the companies involved in the ecosystems. DIMECC’s Head of Sales Rauno Hatakka believes that DIMECC can also bring a business perspective to the Subcontracting exhibition theme and programme in the future.
“The ongoing programme partnership between DIMECC and Subcontracting will bring good visibility to both parties. It will also give us more channels for our customers and enable us to reach companies interested in our activities more effectively. Of course, the cooperation works both ways,” Hatakka says.
Partnering for Finland – collaboration in blue and white
DIMECC’s people emphasise that all stakeholders and companies interested in the growth and impact of Finnish manufacturing industry, regardless of size, are welcome to join the Make in Finland ecosystem.
“Combining the agile practices of smaller companies with larger resources will benefit everyone involved in the ecosystem,” says Arpiainen, reminding that now is a very good time to get involved.
“The Make in Finland ecosystem is proudly operating under Finnish colours. There are many companies from all over Finland, and there is much enthusiasm in the air.”
The easiest way to join the ecosystem is by contacting Arpiainen and Syrjämäki, for example at the Subcontracting Trade Fair. In addition to their mentioned presentations, the duo can be found at DIMECC’s stand A1209.
